Safety Town:

We are coming up to our fourth year of Safety Town, which will be from March 3 to14, 2008.  In 2007, 21 schools participated with about 1550 children coming through the program at no charge!  The children are able to participate in this life lesson and life saving opportunity because of our wonderful sponsors!   The 2 hour program has four stations – Safety Town Walkers, Safety Town Drivers---both on the Safety Town course, Police Officer class time, and Fire Department class time; both the fire and police have indoor and outdoor class time which includes the fire truck and police car. The children learn through hands-on experiences by driving on their own little streets, walking on the sidewalks, and exploring the little town that has been built just for them.  The children, parents, and teachers leave with the basics of rules of the road safety, 911 emergency information, stranger danger, gun safety, and best of all...fun!

Officer of the Year:

In 2008, The Fire Chief and Police Chief will choose their person that they feel is their “Officer of the Year!”   Both Chiefs, send us an essay on the person who won this prestigious award from the Roswell Juniors.  We present their awards at our 2008 banquet.   Those nominations will begin in January 2008.
